The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal invites guests to celebrate the world-famous Venetian Carnevale at the hotel’s award-winning restaurant, Giornotte, from February 16th until February 25th, 2020.
Embracing the resort’s own Venetian-inspired architecture and design, the Venetian Carnevale promises to be a celebratory week dedicated to the Italian festa with a one-of-a-kind carnival atmosphere, Venetian masks and a colorful buffet of Italian delicacies. Spearheaded by the hotel’s Italian culinary team: Executive Chef Alessandro Montedoro and Chef de Cuisine Giornotte Restaurant, Luca Bertelloni, diners are invited to outstanding culinary journey to Italy through food.
Guests will be able to indulge in a colorful spread that includes an array of authentic Venetian delicacies exclusive to the festival only, such as the traditional Baccala Mantecato, a light salted cod usually enjoyed with toasted polenta, or Gamberi in Saor, a flavorful shrimps recipe deep-rooted in Venetian culture. The gourmet offerings also comprise an impressive variety of Italian favorites including scrumptious risottos, home-made pastas, oven-baked pizzas and much more. Sweet-lovers are catered with an entire pastry kitchen to delight on, including festival desserts such as frappe, castagnole and bigne ‘di San Giuseppe.
During the entire month of February, the Carnevale festivities spread throughout the hotel with a collection of engaging activities for the entire family. Inspired on the traditional contest La Maschera Più Bella (The Most Beautiful Mask), the Ritz Kids Club has carefully curated painting and decorating Venetian masks activities as part of their daily schedule for the younger guests. For diners who would like to engage more in the festival, a Venetian costume competition will take place on Friday 21 of February during the Venetian brunch, with exclusive prizes for the winner.
