Rosewood Abu Dhabi treats its younger guests to a wide variety of exciting kid-friendly activities to enjoy during their stay at the luxury hotel with the launch of the Rosewood Explorers kids’ club, complete with a brand-new terrace.
Already a hotspot for family staycations and fun days out, the Al Maryah Island hotel has created an exhaustive itinerary of personalized events for children aged three to 12 years to enjoy every day from 9am until 9pm.
Eco-friendly living and sustainable development are at the heart of the new activations introduced to the kids’ club. Children are given the opportunity to build their understanding of the world, through gardening, art, culinary and environmental awareness. The concept of thoughtful living is introduced through fun games and events like gardening sessions that help them familiarize with natural resources.
Roland Duerr, general manager at Rosewood Abu Dhabi said: “Rosewood Explorers introduces the young travelers visiting or staying at the hotel to the many wonders of the world, while learning how to preserve its beauty.
“Their contributions are vital for the future of sustainable practices and it is best to start them young. With our new interactive programme, children are invited to explore firsthand the many ways to minimize the harmful impact we have on the planet.”
The new terrace offers a beautiful green lawn to enjoy the outdoors and can be used to host cinema nights with freshly made popcorn or a game of mini-football or table tennis. The outdoor area is also equipped with a garden planter and herbal plants that allow children to learn basic gardening skills, while a swinging tent provides the adventurous with a special hiding place to relax and take in the cool weather undisturbed.
Rosewood Explorers also organizes a Fun Rally; the friendly contest lets the young ones interact with each other and exposes them to diverse cultures and lifestyles. The concept of mindfulness is also introduced through yoga and meditation sessions.
The Art Studio is where they can master the art of papier-mâché and other creative skills, while the Media Room is equipped with a TV and kinetic games that help develop coordination. The Quiet Zone houses a library of interesting children’s books and a large Lego wall to help improve fine motor skills.
The kids’ club is no exception to the Rosewood Abu Dhabi virtue of embracing local culture and includes learning Arabic calligraphy, making Middle Eastern teacups and reading books by local authors.
Guests staying at the hotel or dining at one of its restaurants are given the opportunity to leave their child with the expert care of the Rosewood Explorers team for up to two complimentary hours, although children below four years must be accompanied by a guardian.
Should holidaying parents wish to get some much-needed time off, the hotel’s exclusive kids’ club also offers a new babysitting package for four hours in the evenings inclusive of a healthy dinner – all for AED 150. All children in the club are monitored by a designated attendant. If undivided attention is required, a babysitter can be arranged for upon advance bookings at least 24 hours prior to check-in at a small fee of AED 50 per hour.
The upgraded activity club is accessible only to Rosewood Abu Dhabi guests during the time they spend using its various facilities. This initiative is to help parents spending time at the hotel to catch up with friends at one of the restaurants, enjoy a spa treatment or workout session, or attend an event or meeting, all while knowing that their children will be taken care of and having fun at the well-equipped club.
Rosewood Abu Dhabi extends their welcome to children with a ‘Kids eat free’ offer at all its food and beverage outlets. Children aged five to 12 years can enjoy a complimentary meal from the dedicated kids’ menu when accompanied by a dining adult. Each child staying at the five-star property will also receive a goodie bag on arrival.
