Employees and senior management of Grand Millennium Al Wahda, the luxury five-star hotel located in the centre of Abu Dhabi, adjacent to Al Wahda Mall, will be participating in this year’s popular sporting event, Terry Fox run, held in memory of the late Canadian philanthropist Terry Fox to raise funds for local cancer research.
As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility, the team at the property has enrolled in the non-competitive 5 km run on Friday, 19th April, starting and ending at the East Plaza on the Abu Dhabi Corniche at Al Sahil Beach.
“Participation in community events is an excellent way to encourage the team members to embark on a fitness journey. It allows us to showcase how much we care and embrace employee wellness”, said Enad Tannous, General Manager of Grand Millennium Al Wahda.
“The yearly Terry Fox run is a must-attend event on the calendars of a lot of families, sport enthusiasts, philanthropists and UAE residents and we are proud to be participating in this event, helping to keep Terry’s dream alive of finding a cure for cancer. The event represents an excellent opportunity for us to connect with business leaders, existing partners and potential customers”, he added.
Organized by Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, the race was first scheduled in 1981 and has since then contributed significantly towards supporting innovative cancer research and has also created a culture of social responsibility in the UAE.
