Ramadan is a time for generosity and spending quality time with loved ones. Exclusively for the holy month, Catch at St. Regis has launched an initiative that allows diners to give back to those in need. The picturesque seafood restaurant has pledged to donate all sales of its signature, super-creamy and indulgent ‘Catchamisu’ dessert to help children receiving treatment at the Cancer Rehabilitation ward of the Sheikh Khalifa Medical Center. Featuring a delightful mix of coffee caviar, mascarpone cream and almond crumble, all sales made during Ramadan and the week that follows will be used to buy toys, books and other learning items for the centre.
This campaign is the latest in a series of efforts by The St. Regis Abu Dhabi to give back to the local community. The iconic hotel recently collaborated with SEDRA (Services for Educational Development, Research and Awareness for Inclusions), a non-profit organisation that aims to empower and uplift people of determination. This saw the St. Regis Team host a series of virtual and physical workshops across the hotel, exclusively designed to teach the organisation’s members how to become more accomplished in various daily tasks such as table setting, laundry folding and communication. In addition, the beachfront property ran on-the-job training programmes and internships for three young people of determination and hosted an exclusive iftar for the group.
Furthermore, The St. Regis Abu Dhabi also worked alongside Marriott International to present two exquisite brunch experiences in aid of breast cancer awareness. Hosted in the Presidential Suite, the highest-suspended suite in the world, a donation was made to the Al Jalila Foundation, a non-profit organisation for medical education and research, for every guest who attended one of the two charity Brunch in the Clouds events.
Moustafa Sakr, Area General Manager of The St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, Abu Dhabi and The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts, Abu Dhabi, commented: “We consider it is our duty and responsibility to always give back to our local community, and especially to our young people. Through both charity events and donation activities, The St. Regis Abu Dhabi has constantly and consistently contributed and supported causes that work to improve lives and enhance education. This month, we decided to donate all funds from our best-selling dessert, the ‘Catchamisu’, towards the work of the Sheikh Khalifa Medical Center. All the proceeds received will go towards purchasing toys and other learning items for children that are currently receiving treatment and care in the Cancer Rehabilitation Centre of Sheikh Khalifa Hospital. Furthermore, by partnering with SEDRA, we hope to instill a sense of belonging in young people of determination, and most importantly help them learn the skills they need to live independent and happy lives.”
The charitable portions of the ‘Catchamisu’ are available to purchase until Wednesday, May 19. For table reservations at Catch at St. Regis, please email restaurants.abudhabi@stregis.com or call 02 694 4553.
