Crabs & Curries At Sontaya: The Capital’s Most Authentic Southeast Asian Restaurant Reveals A Special New Menu

This August, Sontaya restaurant at The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort is inviting guests to savour a curated selection of the finest crab & curry dishes from across South East Asia. Served alongside the atmospheric venue’s already extensive range of à la carte delicacies, the Crabs & Curries menu boasts an exceptional selection of tempting creations, including meat, fish and shell recipes from Indonesia, Thailand and beyond.

Those who simply can’t resist a succulent piece of crab meat will be instantly enticed by the sumptuous choice on offer. Standout highlights include the sensational baked mud crab, starring a beautiful piece of fresh shellfish prepared with vermicelli, spring onion, garlic and soya sauce, and the delicate wok-fried crab, featuring Thai celery, capsicum, egg gravy and curry powder.

Further delicious options include the blue crab yellow curry and the fried soft-shell crab, plus the fabulous choice of curries, with each specialty showcasing the best aromatic spice combinations and traditional cooking techniques from throughout the region. Seafood connoisseurs are encouraged to try either the tiger prawn choo chee, featuring a creamy red curry, or the wonderfully spicy king fish served with dry red curry.

Meanwhile, tasty and high-quality cuts of meat can also be found amongst the curated menu. Powerfully representing the unique charm of this vibrant cuisine, the fruity esaan chicken curry presents a glorious mix of melon, lotus stem, coconut milk and basil, while the Indonesian wagyu beef short ribs curry, made with roasted butternut squash, maranggi curry gravy and coconut foam, is one of Sontaya’s signature dishes.

Served à la carte and available exclusively until August 31 only, the Crabs & Curries menu is served every evening, from 6pm until 11pm. For more information, kindly contact the resort at restaurant.saadiyat@stregis.com or +971 2 498 8888.
