Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers Celebrates Its Position As Host Of The MENA’s 50 Best Restaurant Awards 2023 By Unveiling An Exclusive Signature Afternoon Tea Experience Starring Globally-Renowned Pastry Chef Karim Bourgi ​

On Monday, January 30, Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers will proudly host the MENA’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards for the second year in a row.

In celebration of this prestigious honour, the distinguished Forbes Five Star hotel is delighted to unveil its exclusive ’50 Best Signature Session’ afternoon tea, created by world-famous pastry chef, Karim Bourgi, and the elegant destination’s own award-winning executive pastry chef, Sumeda Palihakkara.

Taking place on January 28 and January 31, Chef Bourgi and Chef Palihakkara will both be present to personally welcome every guest, and introduce their curated menu of sweet and savoury delicacies.

Co-founder and pastry Chef Bourgi of Kayu Bakehouse admired across the globe for his exceptional French-style patisseries, including golden viennoiseries, rich chocolate eclairs and colourful traditional French macaroons. Born in Senegal to Lebanese parents, he studied at Le Cordon Bleu Paris and completed his training across the finest establishments in France. A multi-award winning pastry chef, he has gone on to co-found multiple successful cafes, restaurants and bars across the Middle East.

Now, he is proud to bring his standout pastry skills and immaculate specialties to the  ’50 Best Signature Session’ Afternoon Tea experience at Conrad Etihad Towers, one of the region’s finest culinary destinations.

Inviting guests to dine against the panoramic views of Observation Deck at 300, the highest vantage point in Abu Dhabi, or within the welcoming ambiance of the Lobby Lounge, the delectable menu presents an array of artistic light bites.

Starting with Chef Palihakkara’s impeccable savoury recipes, diners are treated to healthy and fresh servings of classic prawn cocktail, chicken salad and crab salad, leek and mushroom quiche, traditional marinated cucumber sandwiches and light mini choux buns filled with salmon mousse.

Spanning the finest desserts in French cuisine, Chef Bourgi then presents an irresistible selection of Parisian eclairs filled with homemade hazelnut paste, creamy Saint Honoré vanilla caramel, traditional apple tart tartin, zesty lemon pavlova and many more special and unique bakes created just for the occasion.

The menu is also available to sample daily, without the live presence of Chef Bourgi, until the end of February.
