A Journey Of Senses – The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi Unveils A Gastronomic Start Of The Year

As we step into the new year, The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort has unveiled a host of culinary experiences to ensure a tantalizing and flavorful start.

A gastronomic journey across the varied cuisines of the world awaits at the resort with:

The Masterclass at Buddha-Bar Beach Abu Dhabi

As his debut, the newly appointed Chef De Cuisine Renzo Martin Reyes Reyes is on a mission to introduce Nikkei cuisine.

Hailing from Peru, Chef Reyes has designed a special masterclass to serve as an insight into the delicate flavors of this cuisine. Guests will be able to witness his culinary expertise as he prepares Ceviche Limeño (Seabass, Aji Amarillo, Leche de tigre, Shambal quinoa cracker) during the masterclass, while Head Sushi Chef Suntron Bangjan prepares the Maki Acevichado.

After the class, guests will be able to relish a 3-course set menu serving the Ceviche, BBQ Nikkei Wagyu Short Ribs (Wasabi potato, fresh Asian salad) and The Coconut (a dessert consisting of tropical flavours of coconut, mango and pineapple).

The masterclass takes place on 23rd and 30th January with limited spots. It includes a 3-course set lunch with soft drinks and is available from 12PM to 3PM for a price of AED 195 per person.

New Experiences at Sontaya

Brought to us by the brilliant practitioner of Thai cuisine, Chef De Cuisine Narongrit Thongwijit has accomplished the impossible task of aesthetically bringing together the subtleties of centuries of culinary experience.

Meaning ‘Sunset’ in Thai, the venue brings together the exquisite and vibrant flavor of modern Southeast Asia to Abu Dhabi. Each dish reflects a mixture of unique key ingredients and distinct cooking styles with dramatic presentation, and the tantalizing blend of hot, sour, salty and sweet combined to create a stimulating sensual and evocative adventure.

The new menu includes appetizer such as Vermicelli Prawns (Deep fried vermicelli wrapped prawns, garlic, black pepper, coriander served with mango salad); Duck Pancake (Leek, bell peppers, cucumber with hoisin sauce) and Thai Money Bags (Deep fried vegetable dumplings with sweet chili sauce). Also featured in the new menu are Salmon Salad and Green Mango Salad as starters along with main courses such as Vietnamese Garlic and Pepper Prawn; Panang Chicken; Stirred Fried Beef; Beef Nam Dang Sauce; Red Salmon Curry; Seafood curry and Three Flavoured Bean Curd.

The venue has also introduced an all-new Dumplings’ menu consisting of Thai Chicken Dumplings (Minced chicken, garlic, coriander root, black pepper, sweet turnip, crushed peanuts served with soya reduction); Potsticker (Pan seared chicken and scallop, chive, coriander and asparagus served with soya reduction sauce); and Chicken Money Bags (Deep fried dumping with chicken, garlic, coriander, water chestnuts and black pepper served with sweet chili sauce).

Accenting the experience are the newly concocted drinks – each inspired by a region of Thailand.

The Sontaya Cocktail is dedicated to the restaurant and to the South of Thailand where breath-taking sunset views can be seen. A similar feature is replicated in the restaurant with stunning sunset views that can be witnessed while being surrounded by the water features.

The Pattaya Cocktail is designed to reflect the vibrancy and liveliness of the city while the Li-Khe Cocktail is dedicated to the eastern part of Thailand, famous for its traditional Thai dance. The Royalty Cocktail, a testament to Sukhothai, is a testament to the richness of the kingdom.

Sliders and Champagne at The Manhattan Lounge

For guests with a discerning palate, The Manhattan Lounge offers an intense collision of juicy patties and refined vintage blends with each slider crafted to exude an experience through delicate flavors such as caviar, foie gras, lobster, and blue cheese.
